Michael specialises in commercial litigation, restructuring and corporate insolvency. He has acted for many of Australia's largest financiers as well as private clients and corporates in that space and he is recognised in the Doyles Guide as a recommended lawyer in restructuring and insolvency. Michael has particular experience in complex litigious matters involving finance, equity markets, trusts, fund management and corporations matters. He also has specialist expertise advising large corporates and boards of directors through a restructure and uses his prior experience acting for the major banks to successfully manage the numerous stakeholders involved and to ensure optimal outcomes for his clients are achieved. Michael also represents Receivers, Administrators and Liquidators advising on all aspects of external administrations and the associated litigation and is widely regarded as a genuine specialist in that space. Prior to founding William James, Michael was one of the partners in the Banking, Insolvency and Disputes team at an international law firm.
